ispace selected for Japan’s Space Strategy Fund project

Project Named “Establishing Surveying and Ground Investigation Technologies to Realize Lunar Base Construction” to be led by Ritsumeikan University

TOKYO–November 4, 2025–ispace, inc. (ispace) (TOKYO: 9348), a global lunar exploration company, has been selected by Japan’s Space Strategy Fund for a project titled “Establishing Surveying and Ground Investigation Technologies to Realize Lunar Base Construction” proposed and led by Ritsumeikan University, the company announced today.

For the project, ispace will contribute to its success based on its experience in developing lunar landers and rovers, ground-based validation activities, and operational experience in space.

ispace, as a collaborating organization alongside Ritsumeikan University will acquire high-precision topographic data essential for lunar construction and resource development. The team aims to establish a design framework for civil engineering structures such as site preparation, land formation, road construction, and ground improvement, contributing to the potential construction of a lunar base.
